House Person / Laundry Attendant Holiday Inn Express & Suites Halifax-Bedford Halifax, NS We are currently looking for a House Person / Laundry Attenant. At Holiday Inn Express® we want our guests to rest and feel energized and ready for the day ahead which means we need team members to demonstrate the following service behaviors: Make a Connection - show guests that they are important and make them feel at ease by taking time to acknowledge them in a friendly way Be Helpful - familiarize yourself with all the services in the hotel and the local area to answer any question and give guests what they need to find their own way Be Efficient - take ownership and play your part to get things done by making things easier for guests; doing as much as in advance and multi-task when you need to Reporting to the Executive Housekeeper, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:   Cleans rugs, carpets and upholstered furniture using a vacuum cleaner, broom and carpet shampoo machine. Cleans rooms, hallways and restrooms. Washes walls and ceiling, moves furniture’s and turn mattress. Sweeps, mops, scrubs, waxes and polishes floor. Dusts and polishes metalwork. Pickup clean linen and refill the par stock of linen on each floor pantry. Refill the par stock of guest aminities and supplies on each floor pantry. Assist with the heavy lifting when super cleaning / spring cleaning of rooms. Clean all public areas in the prescribed manner while following department standrad operating procedures. Remove soiled linen and trash from the pool side and other srevice area and take to appropriate locations in the prescribed manner. Assist with placing bed boards, roll-ways beds, extra bed etc. Report missing / found articles, damage or merchandise problems to the housekeeping supervisors. Respond at all times in a friendly, helpful manner to guests and other collegues. Take up any tasks assigned by the supervisors as and when needed.
