We are looking for a Full Time Night Houseperson; seasonal position (June-October 2017) for the Hampton Inn & Homewood Suites by Hilton Halifax Downtown in Halifax.

Reporting to the Executive Housekeeper, the Night Houseperson is responsible for maximizing guest satisfaction and loyalty, through performance of assigned cleaning tasks in, public areas and back of house areas to ensure these areas meet the established standards. This shift is from 2:30pm to 11:00pm.

Duties & Responsibilities:
• Cleaning of public areas, inclusive of the interior and exterior of the buildings (inclusive of shoveling access areas and salting during winter months)
• Delivery of guest folios and articles as requested by guests
• Deep cleaning of public and heart of house areas
• Luggage assistance as required
• Reporting lost and found articles and submitting maintenance work orders as per established policies and procedures.
• Delivery, stocking and collection of linen and guest supplies to and from floors
• Providing information to guests about hotel services, facilities and other amenities
• Welcoming and acknowledging all guests according to company standards.
• Listening and responding to guests’ requests or concerns.
• Demonstrates teamwork by cooperating and assisting co-workers as needed
• Maintains confidentiality of proprietary information
• Consistently practices guest and associate privacy and security
• Contributes to a healthy and safe work environment by reporting all safety hazards, following WHMIS and Fire safety training, and working in a safe manner.
• Participating and adhering to company sustainability efforts,
• Projects a favorable image of SilverBirch Hotels & Resorts to the public

• Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Preferred Education & Qualifications:
• Previous experience working in a cleaning environment
• Previous experience working in Housekeeping Department of a hotel an asset
• Previous experience using a variety of industrial cleaning products and machinery
• Previous customer service experience is an asset
• WHMIS certification an asset
• Position requires standing, moving, bending
Working Conditions:
• Must be able to work backshift on a regular basis.
• Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance
• Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time.
