With our 4 1/2 star Canada Select property offering 310 well-appointed guest rooms and 23,000 square feet of meeting space, our hotel is ideal for the business traveler, meeting planner, and leisure traveler alike. We are currently looking to hire a Host/ Hostess.
The host/hostess must have a friendly and outgoing manner, work well in a busy environment, and be comfortable in controlling ‘the door’. He/she must be organized and have the ability to prioritize and keep control and a smile on when pressure arises. He/she must have the ability to multi-task and keep busy at all times.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma and experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
- Long hours sometimes required
- Medium work-Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 20 pounds of force frequently of constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
- Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly
- Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
- Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure
- Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by co-workers and guests.
- Good wine knowledge is helpful
- Responsible Beverage service certificate preferred.
DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:
- Complete all side work and cleaning duties as described in the SOP’s
- Have a full knowledge of the sections of the dining room as well as the menus
- Greet all guests in a timely manner
- Answer all telephone calls within 3 rings and with the proper greeting
- Keep the buffet looking presentable at all times, well stocked, hot food hot, cold food cold
- Provide assistance to the servers where needed, bussing tables, resetting, making coffee, tea etc, delivering food when need be
- Cover breaks for servers by watching over their section, and providing breaks for Café Pronto attendants.
- Keep hostess stand properly stocked and organized at all times
- All other duties as required
RATE OF PAY: $ 13.07/hr
