| We are currently seeking to fill Part-time Kitchen Attendant positions. As a Kitchen Attendant (dish washer) at The DoubleTree by Hilton Halifax Dartmouth you should be able to perform duties as per specified job description and job requirements. You will also be required to promote a positive image of the property to guests and must be pleasant and able to address problems or any special requests. Job Description: • General cleaning of all areas in the kitchen including pots, pans, dishes and floors • Assist cooks and Chefs with additional duties as required • Able to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs). • Clear and concise pass-on communication with colleagues and leaders in the department Job Requirements: • Previous kitchen experience is an asset; not required. • Strong team player • Ability to work with limited supervision • Positive and professional demeanor • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. • Ability to respond to inquiries from groups of managers, fellow employees and customers. • Ability to communicate effectively before groups of customers or employees. • Ability to read, write and recognize numbers, signs and symbols (WHIMIS, etc). • Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. • Ability to deal with problems involving variables in standardized situations. • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, bend or twist. • Must be able to work a variety of shifts inclusive of evenings, weekends, holidays and occasional overnights.
