Banquet Server
Job Description:
Responsible for meeting service and exceeding the expectations of all guests. The Banquet position is responsible primarily for assisting in serving, setting up and clean-up of all banquet functions and must be willing to be available for restaurant shifts as needed. This is a fast paced position that will involve constant customer interaction and satisfaction.
This is a Causal position which will be hourly and is dependent on the market’s needs. The hours will vary from 5:30am for breakfast services, throughout the day for brunch/lunch services and up to 12:00am for dinner services.
- Knowledge of event menu items and their contents appropriate table settings and service ware as well as the correct preparation and garnishing methods of event menu
- Ability to follow directions from banquet event orders
- Responsible for setting up, serving, maintaining and breaking down banquet rooms
- Ability to carry large and heavy trays on a continuous basis throughout a shift
- Identify and report needed repairs of unsafe conditions to supervisor
- Respond quickly to requests from guests, supervisors or management in a friendly and efficient manner
- Follow-up to ensure guest satisfaction
- Maintain supplies inventory in a neat and organized fashion that is in accordance with department standards
- Maintains security of equipment, keys and supplies issued each day
- Maintains a professional image at all times through appearance and dress
- Follow company policies and procedures
NOTE: Other duties as assigned by supervisor or management
Job Requirements:
- Outstanding guest service skills
- Ability to work with limited supervision
- Positive and professional demeanor
- Previous hotel experience a definite asset
- Must be able to work a variety of shifts inclusive of split shifts, weekends and holidays
- Requires standing/walking/bending throughout shift and ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Minimum of 19 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages and knowledge of provincial liquor laws
- Excellent communication skills and an eye for detail and the ability to multi-task
