We are looking for a Housekeeping Supervisor at the Hampton Inn and Homewood Suites by Hilton Halifax Downtown, Nova Scotia.

Under the direction of the Executive Housekeeper and the Assistant Executive Housekeeper the Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for delivering on the guest experience promise throughout the entire facility. The individual will be instrumental in supporting good public and employee relations.
  
Major Responsibilities and Duties (to fulfill major purpose):
  • Coordinate and supervise the daily activities of the housekeeping, laundry and janitorial teams.
  • Develop a strong team of associates through effective leadership.
  • Deliver excellent and prompt guest service.
  • Responsible for guest corridors, rooms, and other specific areas of the hotel as assigned.
  • Daily auditing of Housekeeping Services Agents to ensure hotel standards are consistently met.
  • Performance management of assigned associates; including training and coaching in accordance with policies, procedures and standards.
  • Proactively address any day-to-day operational concerns, determining appropriate solutions and action to be taken.
  • Comply with all safety regulations of assigned tasks, while ensuring a clean and safe working environment.
  • Actively participate in the hotel health and safety program. Ensure that all associates are familiar with and in compliance with WHMIS and Health & Safety policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to all environmental policies and programs as required.
  • Other related duties and projects as assigned.

  • Ability to motivate, train and develop team members.
 
 Working Conditions:
  • Physically fit and able to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs. and to bend and kneel with comfort.
  • Fast paced environment that is often demanding.
  • Stand, walk and remain on feet to perform job duties for entire shift duration.
  • Use of cleaning chemicals.
  
Experience, Training and Education (demonstrating requirements):
·         1 year previous supervisory and/or training experience.
·         Experience with Microsoft Office.
·         High school diploma preferred
·         Tourism training is an asset/ preferred
