 We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Personnel (full time) to join our team at Hampton Inn and Homewood Suites by Hilton Halifax Downtown. This role will work at both properties.

Rate of pay starting out at $15.22/hr, increasing to $15.42/hr after successful completion of the successful candidate’s probationary period.  We also offer comprehensive benefits package, travel discounts world-wide, fun activities and more. Want to be a part of a great team?

Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Maintenance Personnel will work as part of the engineering team to operate, repair and maintain all hotel facilities in a quick, efficient and professional manner. The successful candidate will work full time; including evenings, weekends and holidays 
 
Responsibilities include:
•Performs preventative maintenance, repairs, retrofits or other tasks as assigned by the Director of Operations / Lead Hand in a safe manner within shop practices and hotel standards
•Monitors and maintains all building systems
•Maintains exterior grounds and safe passageways for all guests and associates
•Process work orders as assigned
•Is a member of the crisis response team
•Maintains Maintenance shop and inventory
•Maintains exterior grounds and safe passageways for all guests and staff
•Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service and leads by example
•Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established company policies and procedures to achieve the overall objectives of this position
•Maintains a favorable working relationship with all other company employees to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate
•Maintains confidentiality of proprietary information
•Contributes to a healthy and safe work environment by reporting all safety hazards, following WHMIS and Fire safety training, and working in a safe manner.
•Consistently practices guest and associate privacy and security
•At all times projects a favorable image of Hampton Inn and Homewood Suites to the public
•Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Preferred Education & Qualifications:
•Minimum 2 years’ experience in a general Maintenance environment
•Electrical, plumbing and HVAC experience an asset
•Previous preventative maintenance program experience an asset
•Previous experience in a hotel environment an asset
•Energetic and flexible, able to work under pressure
•Good communication skills (verbal/written)
•Able to take initiative, follow timelines and meet deadlines Positive, professional demeanor
•Self-motivated, capable of working in a team environment
•First Aid, WHMIS, an asset
