The Hampton Inn & Homewood Suites by Hilton in Downtown Halifax is looking for a Regional Sales Manager to join our team!

Reporting to the Regional Director of Sales & Marketing, the Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for account management, revenue management, business generation, and sales prospecting. The Regional Sales Manager must also work with all hotel departments at the Hampton Inn, Homewood Suites, the Hollis Halifax Doubletree Suites, and the Residence Inn (Manga Hotels) to provide exceptional customer service to all hotel guests, while meeting and exceeding hotel-specific and Manga brand goals.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Strategic planning– Assist in the development of marketing plans, quarterly action plans and key account action plans. Will also be responsible for all aspects of the action plans, working within the confines of timelines, and participate in daily/weekly sales meetings.
  • Direct Selling– Generate and qualify leads and prospects through cold calls, telemarketing, referrals, sales blitzes, brand sales leads, national sales office leads, convention and visitor bureau leads and other sources for all 4 hotels listed above. Contact and service key target accounts within market segments and work with the sales team to maximize leads. Qualify business from in-house sources by meeting with guests at social hours and special events, etc. Conduct direct selling activities in accordance with assigned sales activity and suite night goals for new and current accounts for extended stay and corporate volume market segments. Cultivate lead sources, distribute leads for other Manga Hotels.
  • Account Management- Document weekly prospecting activities on the sales report. Ensure account productivity by maintaining client satisfaction and continuous rapport-building through regular sales calls and proper file maintenance. Prioritize time to ensure proactive selling. Compile and manage database with account information. Prepare proposals, rate negotiations, block space, processing of contracts and following up to secure business.
  • Customer Service/Guest Relations- Build relationships with key accounts and actively target new business. Understand customers, build organizational credibility and develop new revenue sources on an on-going basis. Solicit guest feedback and alert RDOS of all opportunities for hotel improvement. Conduct site inspections for clients and assist the RDOS and GMs in resolving service concerns.
  • Community Relations- Maintain an active role in the community, civic and industry segments. Maintain rapport with competitor hotels, lead sources, clients, and the local community. Participate in employee functions and guest events. Participate in relevant trade shows and promotional events, and conducts presentations within the hotel and travel industry.
  • University of College Degree an asset
  • 2+ years of experience in corporate hospitality within the hotel industry
  • 3+ years of inside/outside sales experience, particularly in prospecting
  • Strong negotiation and customer resolution skills
  • Organized and available to multi task priorities (including four or more properties)
  • Energetic and flexible, able to work under pressure
  • Experience with Delphi an asset
  • Experience with Hilton & Marriott brand an asset
  • Outside local and regional travel will be required (must be able to travel)
  • Must be able to work social evening events when required.
  • Must have proven and proficient computer skills.
