| Job Description: As a Full-Time Breakfast Cook/Chef at the The Hollis Halifax – a DoubleTree Suites by Hilton you will be responsible for preparing the “Wake Up DoubleTree” breakfast buffet program, achieving brand and property standards and goals, and helping the servers keeping the buffet stocked and looking fresh. As a full time breakfast cook, you will be fully responsible for ordering, recieving, planning and leading kitchen operations. Approximately 30+ hours/weekly. • Preparation and execution of the “Wake Up DoubleTree” breakfast buffet program • Ensuring proper service and kitchen cleanliness • Ensure the smooth and efficient operation of all kitchen functions • Food ordering and/or assisting in food ordering, twice weekly. • Clear and concise pass-on communication with colleagues and leaders in the department • Contribute to achieving the loyalty of our guests by exceeding their expectations and providing warm personal service • Working closely with other departments to ensure exceptional service • Ensure high morale and productivity levels through staff planning, training, and development • Focus on consistent delivery of Hilton’s Vision, Mission, and Values by all Guest Services team members • Promote hotel policies and procedures; support internal networks i.e. Health & Safety • Provide leadership for the kitchen team and leading by example Job Requirements: • Outstanding “yes we can attitude” • Strong team player • Multi-tasking proficiency • Ability to work with limited supervision • Positive and professional demeanor • Must be able to work a variety of shifts inclusive of mornings, and mainly weekends • Must be approachable, open-minded and possess excellent listening skills • Must possess the skills to quickly, tactfully resolve and defuse guest and/or employee concerns and ensure the appropriate follow up is carried out • Proven ability to effectively handle stressful situations, be receptive to change and increased demands • High level of attention to detail • Demonstrated ability to train, motivate and develop team members through own experience and passion for customer service • Previous F&B experience required • Post-secondary education in Culinary Management or equivalent hotel experience required What will it be like to work for this Hilton Worldwide Brand?
