We are currently looking for a Banquet Server/Porter. At Holiday Inn Express® we want our guests to rest and feel energized and ready for the day ahead which means we need team members to demonstrate the following service behaviors:
- Make a Connection - show guests that they are important and make them feel at ease by taking time to acknowledge them in a friendly way
- Be Helpful - familiarize yourself with all the services in the hotel and the local area to answer any question and give guests what they need to find their own way
- Be Efficient - take ownership and play your part to get things done by making things easier for guests; doing as much as in advance and multi-task when you need to
DUTIES & FUNCTIONS:
- Prepare room according to Banquet Event Order (coffee break, lunch, buffet, etc).
- Clean and set banquet and meeting rooms for functions.
- Transport and store tables, chairs, and other equipment.
- Set tables.
- Serve guest following rules of etiquette and property standards.
- Clear tables of dirty dishes.
- Deliver dirty dishes to kitchen.
- Knowledge of hotel and city facilities.
- To attend all training sessions and meetings.
- Liaison with supervisor regarding all special requests and/or complaints.
- Maintain work ethics and be accountable.
- Other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
- Must be able to work flexible schedule ( days/evenings/weekends)
- Long hours sometimes required.
- Able to take initiative, follow timelines and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication (verbal/written), guest service and organization skills
- Position requires standing, moving, bending
- Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance
- Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time.
- Knowledge of banquet protocol and various services helpful.
- Must be available for a variety of shifts.
