Hotel Maintenance Supervisor, Full Time Residence Inn Halifax Downtown Halifax POSITION: Hotel  Maintenance Supervisor, Full Time   REPORTING TO:  Rooms Division Manager    We are looking for a dependable, proactive individual with maintenance experience. The maintenance person will assist the maintenance department in the proactive upkeep of our guest rooms, public spaces and guest calls. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: ·      Responsible for the daily readings of HVAC equipment,Guest rooms and public area deficiancy , verifying life safety systems are fully operational and contacting necessary technicians for repairs. ·      Responsible to maintain esthetic condition of the hotel and guestrooms at all times. Drywall & repairs. Painting/vinyl. Repair small equipment. ·      Maintenance calls. Any other duties assigned by the Maintenance Manager.  EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Friendly, positive attitude and guest focused. ·      Previous experience in electrical, mechanical, HVAC plumbing, fire/life/safety systems,  carpentry, masonry, all wall covering systems, flooring (including carpet, tile, wood and finishes). ·      General knowledge of building construction and related safety codes. ·      Knowledge of fire regulations and health and safety. ·      Ability to work with little supervision. ·      First aid/CPR and WHMIS trained. ·      Good verbal and written communication skills. Strong organisational and prioritising skills.      Minimum 2 years experience in hotel operations or a related field would be an asset.     Able to meet physical requirements of position, which includes, but is not limited to: frequent standing and walking, lifting (up to 75lbs), bending and kneeling, and pulling and pushing.
