Title: Laundry Attendant - $14.00/hour
Supervisor: Executive Housekeeper and Assistant Housekeeping Managers
Definition: Under the supervision of the Executive Housekeeper and Assistant Housekeeping Managers, the Laundry attendant is responsible to ensure high standards of cleanliness and excellent condition of hotel linen/terry.
Description of principal Tasks:
1) Cleaning Linen and Terry
- Proper collection of items to be laundered
- Sorting and identifying rewash or discard items
- Washing using specified formulas and programs
- Drying using specified programs
- Ironing linen per training specifications
- Proper folding, sorting and stocking of all hotel linen and terry
2) Cleaning of the Laundry Premises
- Blowing down, high and low dusting
- Cleaning dust traps
- Sweeping and mopping of floors
- Disinfecting counters, sinks and sorting area
3) Maintaining equipment
- Waxing iron
- Troubleshooting heavy equipment concerns
- Monitoring chemical levels and replacing drums
- All others related tasks
Heavy Equipment to be used:
- Heavy duty washer & dryer
- Flatwork ironing machine
Languages Required:
- Basic English required. A second language (preferably French) an asset
Professional, Academic or Other Requirements:
- Experience in Housekeeping or Housekeeping Certificate an advantage
Working hours:
- Shift work based on weekly schedules (day, evening, weekdays and weekends)
Pay:
- Hourly rate, as per agreement
