We are seeking a Banquet Lead who is passionate about providing memorable guest experiences. This position requires strong, clear and consistent leadership with a focus on guest service for our events and meetings.
Must be able to work mornings, evenings, week-ends and holidays. Recommend own transportation as some events go until 2am.
Reporting to the Outlets Manager, responsibilities and accountabilities include:
- Ability to understand and execute Banquet Event Orders (BEO’s) with an eye for detail.
- Set function space for various types of events – meetings, conferences, receptions, weddings.
- Clean and tear down function space at end of events.
- Provide various types of service – plated, buffet, working lunches, coffee breaks, beverage.
- Meets and liaises with convener during event to ensure that customer expectations are met or exceeded.
- Directs and assists banquet staff during service, clearing and post function cleanup.
- Assist with the training, development and coaching of employees.
- Keep storage areas clean and orderly. Everything has a place, and everything in its place.
Qualifications:
- A friendly and enthusiastic individual with a confident and professional appearance.
- Demonstrated exceptional guest service skills with a passion to continually anticipate and exceed guest expectations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills as well as exceptional organizational skills and a keen eye for detail are essential.
- Reliable and flexible to varied shifts or as needed.
- Preference given to those with an accredited restaurant, banquet or catering environment.
- Previous Banquet experience (or equivalent), as well as previous leadership experience.
- Training in Food Handling and Responsible Beverage Service considered an asset.
- Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull and placing objects weighing 30lbs without assistance.
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
