REPORTING TO:   Revenue Manager

 Welcome to the Atlantica Hotel Halifax, a landmark 4 star hotel located in downtown Halifax’s vibrant Robie & Quinpool neighborhood. We are a modern, urban hotel experience in the heart of the city, offering the warmth of East Coast hospitality. Our team of Atlantica Service Ambassadors ensures our guests are taken care of, from curb to pillow.
 We are searching for a dynamic individual who is passionate about exceptional Guest Service delivery to add to our Reservations Team This individual will provide excellence in service, closing the sale and act as a liaison between the hotel and our guests, our reservations team and our front desk- always responding to guest requests and concerns in a personal, prompt and courteous manner.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
•  Provide means of generating revenue for the hotel in order to maximize profitability
• Maintain control of the reservation inventory
• Maintain working relationships and communicate effectively with all departments
• Handle any reservations correspondence
• Handle travel agent commissions-research   
• Communicate reservation information to Guest Service Representatives
• Practice effective yield management
• Empowered as required to meet and/or exceed the expectations of internal and external guests                                            
• Actively participate in Departmental Team meetings
• Represent hotel to provide a positive image
• Any other responsibilities as assigned by the Revenue Manager

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Previous Hotel/Hospitality Reservations experience an asset
• Working knowledge of Opera a definite asset
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Proven telephone etiquette
• Sales and negotiating skills
• Ability to problem solve
• Excellent Communication skills, verbal and written
• Highly organized, results-oriented with the ability to be flexible and work well under pressure in a fast-paced, changing environment
• Self-starter; able to make decisions
• Strong team player
• Internet savvy
• Must be available to work weekdays, weekends, days, evenings, holidays
