| Job Description: We are currently seeking to fill the positions of Laundry/Suite Attendant at The Hollis Halifax – a DoubleTree Suites by Hilton, you will be integral to the cleanliness and general upkeep of the hotel. The presumptive candidate should be able to work in a fast passed environment in the Laundry Room as well as promote a positive image of the property to guests, and must be able to address problems or special request. Laundry duties include: Sorting linen, loading, unloading 55 lb washers and dryers, folding and stocking suite attendant closets with linen. Achieving daily targets as set by the housekeeping Manager or Supervisor and any other duties assigned when needed such as cleaning guest rooms. • Clean guest rooms to standard set out by the property. • Able to work with little supervision. • Able to lift heavy objects (up to 20 kg). • Assist in the security of the property including guests, employees. • May clean public areas as needed, including emptying wastebaskets and ashtrays and transporting trash and waste to disposal area, replenishing supplies in restrooms, delivering linen and replacing light bulbs. • General cleaning duties. • Clear and concise pass-on communication with colleagues and leaders in the department • Contribute to achieving the loyalty of our guests by exceeding their expectations and providing warm personal service Job Requirements: • Strong team player • Ability to work with limited supervision • Positive and professional demeanor • Ability to read, write and recognize numbers, comprehend signs and symbols. • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; stoop, kneel, crouch, bend or twist. The employee frequently is required to use hands to handle, grasp; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and to push, pull or lift over 50 pounds. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. • Previous Laundry/Housekeeping experience a definite asset • High School education; or related or transferable experience/training; or equivalent combination or education and or experience. • Must be able to work a variety of shifts inclusive of evenings, weekends, holidays and occasional overnights. QUALIFICATIONS: • Familiar with Housekeeping; including sanitation, laundry operation, and guest service. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: • Lift up to thirty (50) pounds, unassisted • Bending, stretching, standing, walking and use of stairs for duration of shift. • Exposure to chemicals. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
