~~Hearthstone Hospitality Regional Sales & Catering Manager – Nova Scotia (Dartmouth Hotel based)

Reporting to the Regional Director of Operations, the Regional Sales & Catering Manager is responsible for developing new business and growing existing accounts for Hearthstone Hospitality Hotels – Dartmouth, Sydney, Port Hawkesbury, by direct sales calls, hunting new business and achieving revenue growth in all market segments as defined by hotel budgets and daily revenue reporting. For Dartmouth property you will act as a catering sales manager and solicit group/conference business with guestrooms and later add Sydney into the sales & catering strategies.
You are a person that drives results and is proactive and strategic. You have  strong customer service skills and always do what is right for the client, and employer. You understand the sales process and how important follow up to the success of winning the business and maintaining the account.
• Meet and/or exceed budgets set and targeting the following segments of business, corporate & government transient, meeting business, sport business, tour business, and catering business (preparation of BEOs)
• Solicit and maintain contact with existing accounts with a key focus on maintaining the account and growing contribution to all properties
• Prepare proposals, contracts, BEOs
• Maintain local knowledge of the communities where hotels are, along with monitoring the hotel competitive landscape
• Organize, maintain and update accounts files, advertising files, catering files
• Constantly monitor trends and review statistical data provided through PMS, Channels and Guest Loyalty Program databases
• Conduct site inspections with clients when appropriate
• Prepare bi-weekly sales report and distribute to key stakeholders within the organization
• Develop and maintain existing key partnerships while creating new partnerships
• Active participation in community and industry related organizations
• Be able to work flexible hours and weekends when required
• Exceed client expectations while cross selling all properties
• Respond to all enquiries in a timely and professional manner
• Perform any other job related duties as assigned by hotel managers
Required competencies include:
• 3 years + sales manager experience, preferably within the hotel industry
• University degree in Hotel Management or related discipline a strong asset
• Ability to travel
• Valid Driver’s license
• Excellent interpersonal, presentation, written and verbal communication skills
• Self motivated team player that has a proven sales track record
• Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks
• Leadership skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to lead advertising and brand campaigns
• Understands the meeting and conference business to aid in solicitation of meeting business
• Maintain confidentiality of hotel data and guest/client information
• Able to work flexible, attend networking events
• Excellent customer service skills
