3rd Class Engineer (Full Time Permanent)

We are currently looking to hire a 3rd Class Engineer.

The Class 3 Engineer is expected to perform routine maintenance and repair duties for the property, including but not limited to HVAC, electrical, and plumbing skills.
• Must have a valid 4th Class Engineering certificate and valid 4th class steam ticket
• Must have a good working knowledge of at least one other trade.
• Experience in hotel or related trade preferred.
• High school diploma required.
• Long hours sometimes required.
• Refrigeration, electrical, and plumbing skills, boiler operation and maintenance skills, water treatment and chiller operation knowledge.
• Must have a valid Nova Scotia driver’s license.
• Working knowledge of all legal issues in compliance with CFC/EPA/ADA/IAQ/OSHA.
• Make basic repairs to air conditioners – change filters, clean coils, replace blower motors, etc.
• Repair/replace tile, grouting, and caulking.
• Repair drapes and rods, replace hooks, cords, and slides.
• Install towel racks, toilet paper holders, shower curtain rods, and door stops. Hang Pictures.
• Replace light switches, receptacles, and light bulbs.
• Perform basic furniture repairs and basic wall covering repairs.
• Maintain pool and spa – clean, vacuum, adjust chemical levels, change valves, and replace filters.
• Perform minor plumbing repairs – change FET washers, stems seats, cartridges, handles, drain fittings, etc.
• Replace lavatories and toilets.
• Must be able to work and manage the mechanical, guest room, public space and PM programs.
• Must be able to manage the lights and grounds program.
• Handle dangerous chemicals safely
• Maintain legal documents ex boiler logs PM logs
• Work un-supervised
• Handle all aspects of Class 4 position
• Clean pool pump room.
• Repair and finish sheetrock.
• Must be able and willing to paint as needed.
• PM and to cover shifts when other associates are on vacation.
• Must be available weekends and holiday’s.
• Other duties as required.

RATE OF PAY: $24.35/hr (post probation)
