Position Description:
 
We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our Sales team on a part-time basis. Required 16-20 hours per week and full-time (40 hours/week) hours during vacation times.
 
A background in hospitality and a general understanding of the sales process is required.
 
Strong computer skills are required, and a working knowledge of FOSSE will be considered an asset.
 
The successful candidate will have the ability to multi-task, have strong verbal and written communications skills and pay close attention to detail.
 
Responsibilities:
  1. Accurately produce banquet event orders, signage, sales contracts, rooming lists and reports as delegated by the Director of Sales and Sales Manager.
  2. Provide general administrative support to the Director of Sales, General Manager, Sales Manager, Ownership Group and other Departments as required.
  3. Conduct research campaigns to identify new business opportunities, as needed.
  4. Maintain and submit detailed reporting of activities and productivity weekly.
  5. Effectively communicate the clients’ expectations to all appropriate departments within the Hotel operation ensuring the complete success of every group/meeting booking.
  6. Receive and direct incoming telephone calls and direct client inquiries to the appropriate Manager.
  7. Provide client assistance in a positive and efficient manner in order to project a professional image of the Courtyard by Marriott. 
  8. Meet and direct clients visiting the Hotel and conduct site inspections as required.
  9. Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of all service facilities and features of the hotel and promote and secure sales at every available opportunity.
  10. Provide efficient communication, internally and externally, with emphasis on accuracy, timeliness, seamless service and attention to detail.
  11. Work closely with the Food & Beverage department on the planning and execution of all meetings and catering events held at the property. This may include occasionally working evenings and/or weekends.
  12. Execute all additional requirements determined by guests, the Director of Sales or the General Manager.
  13. Other job duties include, but are not limited to – arrival gift/package preparation, drink/breakfast voucher preparation, invoicing, productivity reports, tracking city events, setting up internet pass codes, food signage for kitchen, ordering supplies, assisting front desk when needed, preparing gift certificates, setting up meeting rooms when needed, group/meeting quoting when needed, etc.
