Position Summary:  Under the Supervision of the Housekeeping Manager, assists in
the day-to-day operations and management of all Housekeeping functions to ensure
hotel cleanliness standards are met and/or exceeded.

Candidate must be able to work flexible hours including days, evenings, weekends & holidays. 

Housekeeping Supervisor Responsibilites & Duties:
  • Performs daily inspections of guest suites, linen closets, ice machine rooms, corridors and public areas, exit stairwells, elevator landings, hotel lobby and public washrooms.
  • Check, verify and monitor all out-of-order suites and follow up on repairs andmaintenance deficiencies.
  • Ensures that the AM and PM reports are accurately prepared and forwardedto the front office in a timely manner.
  • Maintain excellent communication with Front Office as well as all otherdepartments.
  • Addresses guest concerns in a positive and helpful manner and takes promptcorrective action where necessary.
  • Maintains guest/employee confidentiality.
  • Supervises the daily activities of the housekeeping department. 
  • Conducts continual inspections to determine the hotel’s overall level ofcleanliness, performs follow-up.
  • Ensures staff adherence to and maintains departmental and companypolicies including Health and Safety, W.H.M.I.S. and participates in regular fire drills.
  • Checks departmental staff daily to ensure that uniform and grooming standards are maintained. 
  • Follow-up on any unusual occurrences, damage or theft and promptly reportit to the Executive Housekeeper or Security.
  • As required, prepare employee disciplinary reports and discuss with theExecutive Housekeeper before taking action.
  • Assists with on-going departmental training programs. 
  • Bring forward suggestions to the Executive Housekeeper for discussion indepartmental meetings.
  • Participates in regular linen and supply inventories. 
  • Secures keys in accordance with hotel’s key management policy. 
  • Supervises “Lost and Found” Department. 
  • Meets and exceeds customer expectations by ensuring the HousekeepingDepartment provides superior service and teamwork.\
  • Ensures superior training is conducted on a regular basis. 
  • Takes corrective action where required to improve safety and work areas. 
  • In conjunction with the Executive Housekeeper, develops and implements techniques to improve operational and service requirements. 
  • Keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance. 
  • Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established company policies and procedures to achieve the overall objectives of the organization. 
  • Maintains a favorable working relationship with all employees to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate. 
  • Required to be on the schedule to act as Manager on Duty , as assigned. 
 Position Requirements:
  • Ability to stand and walk 6-8 hours a day
  • Must be able to lift and carry 30lbs (13kgs) 
  • Ability to handle repetitious movement such as pulling, pushing, lifting and bending up to 6 hours a day.
