Position: Sous Chef
 
White Point Beach Resort is seeking a dynamic and creative individual to fill the role of Sous Chef.
In this full time, permanent position, you will work directly with the Executive Chef to manage, mentor, and be a part of a team of busy cooks, kitchen helpers and kitchen stewards.
You will play a large role in crafting menus and delivering the food service vision. From a busy dining room, to banquets, beach front dinners and BBQs, White Point will provide you with the opportunity to endlessly explore your creativity.  This position is both challenging and rewarding and requires an individual who possess superior cooking skills, excellent time management, even temperament, and a “guest first” attitude.  You will work to foster an atmosphere of teamwork and cooperation. This is a “working” sous chef position, with responsibilities in both restaurant and banquet operations, food production and administrative processes.  You will be responsible for all kitchen operations in the Chef’s absence.
The perfect candidate for this job is responsible, hard -working, able to work independently, dedicated to quality, consistency and creativity.  This position will provide multiple opportunities for professional growth and advancement.  It is an ideal opportunity for an individual looking to make that next career step towards being an Executive Chef.
Five or more years of professional experience with a minimum of one year in a supervisory role in a busy foodservice operation is required.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
  • Previous culinary leadership experience in a high volume establishment.
  • Excellent high volume culinary production skills.
  • Trade Certification or Red Seal preferred
  • The ability to provide consistent culinary and leadership direction.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • Culinary Training from a recognized institution preferred
