We are looking for a Server/Relief F&B Supervisor
 
GENERAL OVERVIEW
This front-line position is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong customer focus who has some supervisory experience. Our colleagues work to provide the highest level of service in a knowledgeable, professional manner while striving constantly to exceed guest expectations. The function of the Relief F&B Supervisor is to lead the shift and direct the workforce of F&B employees during the shift.  Reporting to the Outlets Manager the primary areas of focus for this position are:
 
SERVER:  RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Embrace the hotel’s Food and Beverage Standards and its Vision, Mission, and Values.
  • Exceed the expectations of all guests (both internal and external) through empowerment and by responding attentively, efficiently, and politely to all requests.
  • Help create a positive work environment through teamwork and cooperation with peers and team leaders.
  • Actively participate in monthly departmental communication meetings.
  • Contribute to a healthy and safe work environment by reporting all safety hazards, following WHMIS and Fire Safety training, and working in a safe manner.
  • Contribute to the overall financial success of the Food and Beverage department through suggestive selling, up-selling, breakage/equipment control, and accurate financial reporting
  • Other duties as assigned
 
RELIEF FOOD & BEVERAGE SUPERVISOR: RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensure all department operational procedures are followed in accordance to standards
  • Greet then seat and service guests in accordance to Standards.
  • Assist with service and/or bussing when necessary to ensure superior guest satisfaction.
  • Monitor the schedule daily, ensuring that staffing levels are maintained and consistent with business levels while following the guidelines created by the hotel and union.
  • Follow through on guest requests and/or complaints.
  • Participate in the development of the merchandising &marketing of all F&B services
  • Liaise closely with the Culinary team and promote teamwork between the Culinary and the Outlet team members. 
  • Relay suggestions about menu items and guest feedback to the Outlets Manager.
  • Actively participate and contribute to project work identified by the Outlets Manager
 
SERVER:   QUALIFICATIONS, ABILITIES, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
  • Previous Food & Beverage server experience is required, especially in the area of fine dining
  • Must be of legal age to serve alcohol
  • Knowledge of wine service is an asset
  • Responsible Beverage Server Certificate
  • Demonstrates exceptional guest service skills with a passion to continually anticipate and exceed guest expectations.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills and a keen eye for detail are essential.
  • Able to organize job tasks efficiently, be thorough and exact with details, provide quality guest service
  • Reliable and flexible to work varied shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, holidays and split shifts.
  • Capable of handling a physically demanding workload, including lifting, or standing for long periods of time
  • Friendly, energetic, enthusiastic individual with a neat, professional appearance
 
RELIEF FOOD & BEVERAGE SUPERVISOR: ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS, ABILITIES, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Food & Beverage Industry including previous supervisory experience
  • Experience working in unionized environment
  • Formal hospitality training an asset (i.e. degree or certificate program)
  • Must be well organized, results oriented
  • Must be strongly motivated with proven leadership skills
  • Initial step toward being a supervisor/leader in the future
 
A shift premium of $1.61 above the current rate will be paid while performing the Relief Supervisor duties.
