Reporting to the Executive Chef, the Second Cook is responsible for assisting in the overall kitchen operation and maintenance as well as cleaning and sanitizing of designated kitchen areas, tools, equipment, and dishes.
 
Responsibilities include:
  • Ensuring consistent quality standards in food preparation as per menu specifications and guest requirements
  • Ensuring proper safety and sanitation in kitchen in accordance with Food Safe protocol.
  • Incorporating into preparation any special dietary requests
  • Ensuring food stocks are utilized effectively
  • Assist with receiving, unloading, and storing groceries and supplies
  • Assist in performing administrative tasks (i.e. maintaining temperature logs for refrigerator and internal cooked foods, etc.)
 Qualifications:
 
  • Food Handler Training completed  
  • Minimum two years cooking experience in a similar hospitality/restaurant environment
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills
  • Superior initiative and attitude
  • Ability to prioritize multiple demands and strong customer service focus
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability and desire to work independently with minimal supervision, and as a team player
  • Have ability to work a multitude of shifts to include early mornings, evenings and weekends
