Title:                         Catering Sales Manager
Mission:                   This position is a very integral, customer focused, revenue generating position that will share our values and dedication to customer service thus exceeding expectations. The Catering Sales Manager is responsible for maximizing food and beverage revenues, managing/yielding meeting space and ensuring both internal and external guests’ expectations are met and exceeded. 
Responsible To:     Area Director of Sales & Marketing
  • To be highly organized while demonstrating professionalism through effective & timely communication with internal and external clients including partnerships with companies that aid in proving service to our clients.
  • To take initiative and deliver personalize service that enhances the guests experience, builds relationships and confidence with the hotel – personally assisting the client by confirming details and assisting with the panning of their meeting, event or social including site inspections, meeting clients on site during their event, coordinating pre-cons which include necessary departments/banquets to ensure attention to detail and the high standard of service delivery.
  • To maintain proficiency in Word, Excel, Delphi, OPERA and related programs as required.
  • To establish and maintain rapport with clients by handling incoming inquiries and providing a response within the business day either by phone or email and providing a proposal within 24 hours of the inquiry with a follow up call within 5 business day of the event for feedback and any potential future business. 
  • Ensures all Banquet Event Orders and client catering contracts are entered accurately by the sales and catering department and communicated timely to all departments involved. Maintaining a close working relationship with the Sales Team, Guest Services, Reservations, Banquets & Kitchen to completely satisfy the requirements of the booking and creating opportunities to wow the quest.
  • To quote and negotiate pricing within established parameters to maximize Catering revenues and event space to full potential through being aware of revenue opportunities, utilizing yield management skills, and the up selling of menus, beverages, audio visual, guestrooms and all Hotel services. 
  • To be accountable for booking and increasing Catering business, through the development of new business and active follow up of existing inquiries. 
  • Conduct and/or attend weekly meeting with Kitchen and Banquets to review event contracts and all functions for the upcoming week, discussing opportunities to enhance the guest experience. 
  • To ensure the quality of all meeting space through quarterly inspections and reporting deficiencies to the appropriate department with follow up. 
  • To be fully conversant with emergency response standards and to report all  incidents, accidents, near misses and any safety hazards.
  •  To effectively respond to all reasonable additional assignments determined by the Area Director of Sales & Marketing or any member of the hotel leadership team.  
  •             To follow new/enhanced cleaning procedure for cleaning and sanitizing                 work  area, equipment and surrounding guest areas.
  •             To wear proper PPE to protect myself and others from viruses and                         germs.
  •             To practice social distancing.
  •             To practice recommended hygiene practices.  Sneeze into sleeve, wash               hands for 20 seconds or use sanitizer.  
  •             To not come to work if you are feeling unwell.
  •             To complete Wellness Check at the beginning of each shift.
  •             To lead by example.
