The DoubleTree by Hilton Halifax Dartmouth is looking for an experienced and dynamic Sales Manager to join our team.

The ideal candidate would have 3+ years experience in Hospitality (Group and IT) Sales, a strong understanding of the sales process and strong closing skills. Fantastic relationship building skills and a track-record for effectively managing those relationships once built, are a must.

The DoubleTree by Hilton Halifax Dartmouth has 204 recently renovated guestrooms, over 12,000 square feet of event space as well as onsite dining through The Narrows Restaurant and Lounge.

Overview:
To both manage existing accounts and to seek out, develop and foster new business in all group segments. You will utilize pro-active direct sales, telemarketing, marketing, appointment calls and tours of the Hotel as needed. You will develop and drive strategic action plans to drive measurable, incremental sales revenues in these areas. You will work closely with other members of our Sales Team to drive performance and results at property-level and support in delivering an exemplary guest and client experience.

Responsible to: General Manager (or designate)

Responsibilities:
To conduct research and prospecting campaigns to identify new business opportunities.
To identify new business and industry opportunities through consistent follow up on leads from all sources.
To conduct sales calls to prospective clients.
To conduct hotel site inspections and entertain clients.
To participate in networking, community events acting as an ambassador for the Hotel at all times.
To create and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with customers that lead to repeat business.
To prepare proposals and contracts.
To respond to leads and RFP’s.
To participate and engage with Hilton Enterprise sales resources and program participation.
To maintain and submit detailed reporting of activities and productivity and to maintain accurate client records.
To execute all additional assignments determined by the Director of Sales or General Manager.

Requirements:
· Proven success in a similar role and environment.
· Strong computer skills and high attention to detail.
· A self-starter with proven initiative.
· Exceptional presentation skills, both verbal and written.
· Ability to work collaboratively with hotel sales and service teams.
