As a Houseperson, you will be reporting to the Housekeeping and Laundry Manager at The Barrington Hotel. A Houseperson is responsible for maximizing guest satisfaction and loyalty, through the cleanliness and overall appearance of the interior and exterior of the hotel’s public areas. They are passionate about serving others and working as a team with associates from all departments.
Your Hours:
- Shifts vary providing added opportunity.
- Part time: 20 - 30 hours per week
- Rate of pay: $15.49 to $15.99 per hour
- Days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays. We value work/life balance and therefore have flexible schedules available provided Associates are flexible, adaptable, willing to compromise for the benefit of the team and can pre-plan time off requirements.
What You’ll Do:
- Consistently maintain cleanliness in common areas of the property according to department and hotel standards.
- Consistently adhere to safe work practices; demonstrate familiarity with hotel’s emergency response programs, WHMIS and health and safety regulations. Be compliant with related procedures and take corrective action to ensure safety of the hotel.
- Actively maintain organized storage closets when stocking linens and other housekeeping items.
- Address issues with guests or colleagues with Management to support operational goals and foster a positive work environment.
- Finish assigned tasks in a timely manner and prioritize tasks in a way that puts operational, and guests needs first, and according to hotel standards.

You’re Good At:
- One year of previous experience cleaning within a hotel is an asset
- Previous experience in customer service and WHMIS trainingis an asset
- Must be physically able to perform the job, lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds, bending, twisting, walking, and standing for extended periods of time.
- Customer service attitude; good verbal communication skills.
- High level of integrity and accountability, with attention to detail, makes minimal mistakes or learns from mistakes
- Highly organized, able to work independently and detail oriented.
- Positive, enthusiastic, and willing to learn and grow.
- Punctual and reliable. Adaptable to change.
- Able to work with a variety of people, collaborates, is professional and respectful.
- Must pass a criminal record check.
