As a Room Attendant, you will be reporting to the Housekeeping Manager at Hotel Halifax. A Room Attendant is responsible for maximizing guest satisfaction and loyalty, through the cleanliness and overall appearance of the interior and exterior of the hotel, guest rooms (standard rooms and suites) and corridors. They are passionate about serving others and working as a team with associates from all departments.
Your Hours:
- Shifts vary providing added opportunity.
- Days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. We value work/life balance and therefore have flexible schedules available provided Associates are flexible, adaptable, willing to compromise for the benefit of the team and can pre-plan time off requirements.
What You’ll Do:
- Complete assigned rooms during shift, including check outs and stay overs. Reports any delays in completing assigned rooms as soon as aware.
- Ensure proper guest supplies, amenities, and advertising are in the rooms.
- Ensure the security of keys and guest information, as well as individual and guest safety while cleaning. Reports any maintenance deficiencies promptly.
- Ensure guest requests are met by either fulfilling the request or reporting it to a leader.
- Provide information to guests as needed.
- Consistently ensure room cleanliness meets hotel standards by dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, washing, brushing, polishing, and changing linen.
- Assist other departments and coworkers where necessary.

- Uniforms are provided and cleaned.
You’re Good At:
- One year of previous experience cleaning within a hotel is an asset
- Previous experience in customer service is an asset
- WHMIS training
- Must be physically able to perform the job, lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 25 pounds, bending, twisting, walking, and standing for extended periods of time.
- Customer service attitude; Good verbal communication skills.
- High level of integrity and accountability, with attention to detail, makes minimal mistakes or learns from mistakes
- Highly organized, able to work independently and detail oriented.
- Positive, enthusiastic, and willing to learn and grow.
- Punctual and reliable. Adaptable to change.
- Able to work with a variety of people, collaborates, is professional and respectful
- Must pass a criminal record check.
