Coordinate the activities of the dining room supervisors; guiding a smooth and profitable traffic flow through the dining room. Provides supervisory role activities in their absence.
Full Time Maternity Leave 1 Year Position including some weekends.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
-Reviews the activities of all levels of subordinates to ensure that maximum possible efficiencies are being achieved, recommending any required changes to policies and procedures.
-Ensures that regulations regarding WHMIS and occupational health and safety are met.
-Monitors, documents and reports accident and injury to visitors and staff.
-Informs other managers of activities requiring their attention which occurred after their shift finished.
-Monitors the employee record keeping process and reviews on a regular basis.
-Performs necessary internal PR activities required.
-Participates in advertising procedures.
-Makes recommendations regarding donation requests and the process for handling them.
-Ensures that the area is properly cleaned, maintained and repaired.
-Makes recommendations in regard to menu planning, changes and pricing.
-Ensure that the information available to guests is accurate and current.
-Conducts periodic checks on specified inventory and initiates the restocking process as required for dining room items.
-Supervises the proper maintenance of dining room equipment and advises the GM is service work is required.
-Ensures that requirements are met for the presence of first aid qualified personnel.
-To participate in the short/long term annual goals and objectives and reviews with senior management.
-Develop and implement policies and procedures
-Attend and participate in management workshops, gift shows and staff training.
-Maintains, interviews, hires, trains, evaluates, supervises and schedules paid staff.
-Assigns staff functions, designate duties and assignments.
-Conducts paid staff performance evaluations.
-Answer telephone when possible.
-Check water levels and order when appropriate.
Experience in food and beverage management is an asset. Minimum Grade 12 education with 3 to 5 years management experience.
